2019 Recap - A Trip of a Lifetime (again!)

Jerry’s Chevrolet Welcome Event – Beresford, SD

The first chance to pick up your registration Welcome Packet (full of great resources and a fun gift from the Black Hills Corvette Classic event planning committee.

The Welcome Event is a great time to meet with old and new friends, grab a quick lunch and have your car part of the annual aerial photo.  Last year's morning check-in ended up being delayed just a little bit as a storm moved through - no harm, no foul.  Registration went on as usual once the clouds cleared.

Hot Summer Nites - Sioux Falls, SD

This rally of cars moved to the W.H. Lyon Fairgrouds for 2019 and it was a great time! The food from local food trucks was delicious, the beverages from the beer garden were crisp cold and the viewing of Corvettes felt like it went on forever (in the best way possible!).

Gathering for Caravan to Spearfish - Sioux Falls, SD

Did someone say donuts?  Thanks to event sponsor HyVee, we fueled-up after we had fueled-up*.  The Caravan is the ultimate line-up of Corvettes -- okay, maybe a tie with Hot Summer Nites! Over 200 gathered last year to head out to Spearfish, South Dakota together.  It was picture perfect!

(*There are no gas pumps at the Fairgrounds so you have to come with a full gas tank.)

Al’s Oasis Brunch - Oacoma, SD We stopped (as a group!) at Al's Oasis. They are kind enough to host nearly the whole group for a halfway pit-stop.  Their brunch is delicious - make sure you have cash!  Hot biscuits and gravy, fruit, eggs, bacon; the works!

Devil's Tower Tour, one of many tours

A South Dakota native, I had never hopped the border to Crook County, Wyoming to see Devil's Tower. Thanks to the Corvette Classic, I was able to play tourist and travel the beautiful winding roads to see this majestic destination. The driving tours are some of the best ways to travel the back roads to see these amazing landmarks.

Closing Banquet - Spearfish, SD

This banquet is so bittersweet.  It's the final chance to hang out with new and old friends, enjoy a delicious meal, congratulate the award winners and enjoy the live entertainment!  Last year, a Chicago Tribute Band closed down the venue.

I hope to see you as part of the 49th Black Hills Corvette Classic!
